Oxygen Plus Packaging

This is literally canned oxygen.Pure oxygen, I might add. Which means it helps your body recover faster from physical exertion or fatigue. You just breathe it in. No joke.

Oh, notice the nice metallic printing. Fancy.

Pax

I have the fourtune of participating in this year's Poster Offensive Exhibition, a non-partisan political poster exhibition. This is my submission, but you really must come to see the real print alongside other beauties.

Nova Scotia Branding Guide

Here's a litte taste of my branding campaign of Nova Scotia. A semester's worth of research and design is contained in the four books, which are perhaps my favorite part of the project.

Housing Guide Cover

Every year The Minnesota Daily releases its "Housing Guide," a student aide to housing and residential life around the cities. This years articles focus on the different neighborhoods around the Twin Cities. I created a rough map of the campus housing neighboohoods, incorporating the archetecture and landmarks of each area. I got my hands dirty and did tons of illustration, leaving my hands stained from my permanent marker. A big thanks to Ashley Goetz for helping with the illustrations.

Clouds Print

I had a little time after break to make a print. I created something with little point behind it. Hopefully this print will purge my driving need to apply rain drops in every design piece. I have three versions: orange/blue, orange/pink, and orange/navy.

12.5” x 18”, 2 color silkscreen.

Tori Amos Concert Poster

I was the privileged designer of a promotion poster for Tori Amos in concert at Andrew Jackson Hall in Nashville, Tennessee. Tori’s recent hit, “Bouncing Off Clouds”, inspired the piece. I wanted to play with space, keeping the middle calm and repetitive while stretching the image area with complexity on the top and information on the bottom.

11” x 17”, 4 color print.

Promotional Poster Design

This poster features various content from past projects merged together as a crazy collage. The poster was part of a larger promotional project that took up most of my fall semester. Feel free to email me if you want a copy or more information about my work.

Arts & Entertainment Page Designs

Every Thursday, The Minnesota Daily publishes their Arts & Entertainment section. The designs have to catch the reader’s eye and depict the feeling of the witty journalism within. Subjects ranged from renowned accordion players to pole dancing aerobics. Never a boring week. To see the full archive visit mndaily.com

KIAB Concert Poster

I designed this poster for the Know it all Boyfriends concert in Madison. Without and knowledge of the band’s history or sound, I wanted to portay their name in the easiest way possible. The end result is this simple and witty concept that printed oh-so-pretty.

16” x 20”, 2 color silk-screen.

The Draft Concert Poster

The Draft played at the Triple Rock and put on an incredible show, which I was fortunate to print posters for. The artwork is based on The Draft’s song, “New Eyes Open”. Conceptually, I wanted to create something from many individual elements, playing with the viewer’s perception of what the subject matter really is.

19” x 25”, 3 color silk-screen.

Fuller Still Shirt

A fuller is a job that few do anymore, where cloth is cleansed of impurities using the dirt from the ground. Ironically, this dirty job produces the whitest garments. Fuller Still, a fantastic band from Minneapolis, wanted to base the shirt off of an analogy in the bible about Jesus’ garments being whiter than any fuller could produce.

Their request for this t-shirt was to have something ethereal, abstract, and trendy. There was also a shameless hint to see something floral. The end result is this 2 color print.

Gena CD Packaging

Silk-screening 250 four-color booklets was quite the endeavor, but the end result was well worth the ink-stained hands and sore muscles. The packaging is made from recycled material – the paper literally saved from a dumpster, then tediously hand cut. The package unfolds into six sections with the artwork and CD on the inside and lyrics and credits on the back.

The artwork tells a story of a man that loosely follows the progression of songs on the album (bliss, tragedy, depression, and redemption).

14.25” x 9.25”, 4 colors (3 inside, 1 outside).
